Today I decided to activate the last of the newly approved nature reserve LAFF-178 Kulthaug, which is located in the great Slettedalen valley in the south west part of Norway. The only way to get here in winter is by cross country skiing or snowshoeing, and this remote mountainarea provides a lot of memorable views.
I have never seen so much snow in this area before, and here we can go cross contry skiing until at least late July this year.
The end-fed 3 band wire antenna is up, and I am ready to “go live” on the HF band’s. The propagations was very good on almost every band, and after 3 hours of operation I managed to get 98 stations in the log running only 5W from my Elecraft KX3. Thank’s to all chasers and spotters for a great experience.
It sure was a great ham radio day, in a magical winter wonderland !
